Captain Zach Armistead is a St. George Island and Apalachicola native. He started fishing at the age of 3 years old with his father, Chris Robinson of Robinson Brothers Guide Service, who raised him up to be a St. George Island and Apalachicola fishing guide.

The Armistead family has long been a part of Florida’s Forgotten Coast. In 1959, the Armistead family built the 7th house on St. George Island, before the first bridge to St. George Island was built. They helped in the beginning of the development of St. George Island and built many of the businesses there.

Zach's family has fished the Apalachicola Bay and St. George Island flats for over 60 years. They have passed the tradition of St. George Island and Apalachicola fishing on to their children and grandchildren, one of which is Captain Zach. This passed down tradition of fishing the Apalachicola Bay and St. George Island flats has given him a lifetime of experience and fishing expertise.
